Getting an Australian Spouse Visa.

The first is where you will be granted a temporary visa and then a permanent visa after a gap of two years from the time you were granted a temporary visa. You need to wait for two years to get a permanent visa as your relationship with your spouse will be checked; whether you are still together and going strong or then have gone your separate ways. Only if you and your spouse are still in a relationship, will you be granted a spouse visa. You can apply for the spouse visa from within Australia or when you are not in Australia but when you are out of Australia, then when you get the spouse visa you need to be out of Australia.
However, if you are in Australia at the time of the application of a spouse visa, then you need to have a substantive visa, which is valid. You also need to make sure that you are in Australia itself when you granted the spouse visa.
Australian Spouse Visa Requirements.
In order to qualify for an Australian spouse visa, you will need to show at least one of the requirements listed below.
- You need to be married to an Australian wherein the marriage needs to be valid under the Australian law.
- You need to be in a de facto relationship along with an Australian for a minimum of twelve months before you actually go on and apply for a spouse visa in Australia.
- You need to know and also meet your Australian partner face to face before you get married, which should be valid under the Australian law as well. You also need to make sure that by the time you are married by the time you get the visa. But this is in case of offshore applications only.
Australian Spouse Visa Costs.
There will be a one time charge for the temporary as well as the permanent visa but you need to remember that if in case you are denied the spouse visa, these charges are non-refundable. Hence, when you apply again for the visa, you will need to start the procedure from scratch along with the visa charges.
